School district fills administrative positions

The Washington Township Public Schools recently appointed four educators to new administrative positions.

Mike D’Ostilio was hired as director of Registration, Data Technology, and School/Community Outreach; Allison Egizi was elevated to principal at Bunker Hill Middle School; Joanne Henry was named new Assistant Principal at Kindle Elementary School; and Alli Serafinelli was hired as Supervisor of Special Education at the elementary level, according to a press release from the township school district.

Mike D’Ostilio

D’Ostilio, former Bunker Hill Middle School principal, is now serving as the director of Registration, Data Technology, and School/Community Outreach.

In his position, he oversees aspects involving student registration, the student information system (Genesis), as well as state reporting, and supports the outreach to the community through the website, ParentSquare, and other online means.

Since 2017, D’Ostilio was principal at Bunker Hill. Prior to that, he worked in the Gateway Regional School District, serving as the Supervisor of English/Language Arts and Social Studies. In 2008, he transitioned to the Middle School Assistant Principal at Gateway Regional. Prior to Gateway, D’Ostilio was a high school English teacher at Spotsylvania (Va.) High School.

D’Ostilio holds many certifications that include: strategic organizational leadership, principal, supervisor, and school administrator. He holds a Master of Education degree in public school administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, Va.)

Allison Egizi

Egizi, former assistant principal at Bunker Hill Middle School, is now serving as its principal. In her position, she oversees discipline, instruction, and outreach of the students at Bunker Hill. She is currently enhancing the MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) model at Bunker Hill, as well as working to ensure the continuation of the BHMS mission and vision plan.

At a meeting Sept. 5, the Washington Township Board of Education approved the transfer of Egizi from assistant principal at BHMS with a salary of $101,718 to now $112,873 in her new role for the 2024-’25 school year, that was effective Sept. 6.

Prior to coming to BHMS in the fall of 2023, Egizi served as an elementary teacher in Pine Hill for over a decade, specifically at John Glenn Elementary School. There, she completed her principal internship.  She also has experience working in Lindenwold Public Schools.

Egizi’s certifications include a standard K-5 teacher certification and a CEAS Principal endorsement. She holds a Master of Arts degree in school administration from Rowan University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in history and elementary education.

Joanne Henry

Henry, former Supervisor of Special Education at the middle level and at Grenloch Terrace Early Childhood Center since 2018, is now serving as the assistant principal of Kindle School. Kindle is a satellite location as part of the district’s preschool expansion grant. Henry will be working closely with the principal of Grenloch, Christina Cox, to support the district’s Pre-K students.

Prior to 2018, Henry served the district as a learning disabilities teacher consultant (LDTC) and a special education teacher. Before coming to Washington Township, she was a special education teacher at People for People Charter School in Philadelphia (2006-’13)

Henry’s certifications are numerous. She holds a K-12 reading specialist certification, students with disabilities, elementary teacher, LDTC, supervisor, and principal. She has a Master of Arts degree in educational leadership from Thomas Edison State University, an M.A. in reading from Gwynedd Mercy University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and special education from Temple University.

Alli Serafinelli

Serafinelli, former teacher at Wedgwood Elementary School, is now serving as a Supervisor of Special Education at the elementary level. In this position, she oversees several district elementary schools to ensure programs, classes, and support is in place to assist students with special needs. She will be a key figure in discussing programmatic needs at the elementary level.

Most recently, Serafinelli served as both a learning and language teacher for students with disabilities, and was a special education teacher in the inclusion classroom.  She also has experience as a kindergarten teacher assistant at Bright Beginnings Academy, and she provided early intervention home therapy. Serafinelli also was an assistant at the Gloucester County Special Services School District.

Serafinelli’s certifications include: teacher of students with disabilities, elementary teacher K-6, and supervisor. She holds an Master of Arts degree in educational leadership and a bachelor of arts in teacher of students with disabilities/K-6 teaching from Wilmington University.  She also has her associates degree from Camden County College in early childhood education.
