Businesses and residents located along Moorestown’s Main Street from Chester Avenue to N. Church Street are strongly encouraged to attend the Phase 3 of Water Main Replacement Public Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 11, at 6 p.m. in council chambers. Work is anticipated to start on or around Tuesday, May 26, with water main installation scheduled to take place overnight. Main Street will see a full closure in both directions during this night work with a targeted completion of Labor Day.

A representative from Earle, the construction company tasked with the water main installation, will be in attendance at the meeting to provide an overview of the work and answer questions. While the work is scheduled to take place at night to minimize the impact on Main Street businesses, we recognize these improvements still have the potential to be disruptive this summer. Anyone who lives or works along Main Street is recommended to attend to learn more.

Homes along Main Street and connected streets are served by two aging water mains – one about 75–80 years old, the other around 100. As part of a multi-phase project, both mains will be replaced with modern pipe, and the road will be repaved once installation is complete. This project is a major capital investment in Moorestown’s infrastructure.
