Deptford will host a township-wide yard sale all day on Saturday, Sept. 27, with a rain date of Sunday.
According to the township, last year’s sale saw participation from more than 75 homeowners. Applications can be picked up at the clerk’s office at the municipal building or downloaded from the township’s Facebook page.
A full list of participating homes will be posted to the township website as the sale gets closer.
“We want people to register so people know where to go,” said Mayor Paul Medany. “The yard sales are usually scattered all over town. It was an idea that we had where we make this one day, so people know where to go and they can go wherever.”
The sale is open to any Deptford resident for a fee at registration; another registration is available for homeowners who want a lawn sign to advertise their participation.
“Most people just want to be on the list,” said acting Clerk Debbie Willard.
Residents will keep the funds they make from the yard sale. Registration fees will be donated to support the township veterans committee.
“We’ve been doing this for more than five years now,” Medany said. “The township does not make any money from this.”
The deadline to submit an application is Monday. Participants must include the homeowner’s name and the township neighborhood where the home is located, among other information. Checks are payable to Deptford Township. Mail applications and donations to Deptford Parks and Recreation, 1011 Cooper St.
