Deptford residents are being asked to again shop locally this holiday.

Township events focused on Christmas have included the annual tree lighting on Dec. 6, senior bingo on Dec. 11 and the senior winter wonderland on Dec. 12 – all projects planned by the township recreation committee.

The township expects more than 50,000 visitors a day after Thanksgiving and through Christmas. They will be welcomed by three new businesses – PJ Whelihan’s, Mocha Tea and Sole Control – as well as the township’s other merchants. Deptford also expects the additions of Grocery Outlet, Scott Honda and a new movie theatre next year.
