Rowan College of South Jersey teamed with Inspira Health for a ribbon cutting on Sept. 25 at the college’s Gloucester County campus to mark the opening of the newly expanded Inspira Nursing and Health Professions Center.
The center – funded by a grant from the county and the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act – added eight labs to increase the capacity of Rowan’s health-care certificate program and provide more space for students specializing in the nursing, health and CTE programs.
“This is an exciting time for our Career and Technical Education (CTE) division,” said CTE Dean Brigette Satchell. “Many of our programs prepare students for entry-level positions. “What’s exciting now is, as our students walk through these halls, they’ll be able to connect with fellow students in the new RN labs upstairs, or other advanced programs, which will give them the opportunity to see where the next leg of their educational journey could go.”
Rowan and Inspira formed a partnership in 2022 to provide students with scholarship and employment opportunities and the chance to develop their skills under the latter’s guidance.
“I absolutely love working in their operating rooms with the different surgical teams,” said Theeranut “Apple” Krzyminski, a second-year nursing student at Rowan. “It is that environment, and witnessing the impact we have on our patients’ lives, which lead me to the next phase of my journey to an operating nurse,”
“Our premier partnership with Rowan is allowing more people than ever before to pursue careers in health care, right here in South Jersey,” noted Amy B. Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “Now, with the expanded capacity made possible by this expansion, even more people will have an opportunity to follow their calling to heal, to counsel and to comfort.”
Other students were in attendance at the ribbon cutting, along with Gloucester County officials and other Rowan personnel.
“The students you see here with us today are the future of health care,” said Rowan President, Frederick Keating. “The fact that you have all chosen this profession is admirable.”
