Late undersheriff gets posthumous award

Gloucester County Undersheriff George Johnson was posthumously awarded the Blue Mass Service Award at the Camden County Diocese Blue Mass at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Blackwood on Sept. 29.

Johnson served the citizens of Deptford for 27 years prior to his service with the Gloucester County sheriff’s and prosecutor’s offices. A video of the moment was captured by the Gloucester Township Police Department.

Harkins is also a deacon with the county diocese and presented Johnson’s award.
