District 9 of the Deptford fire department was dispatched to a basement fire at a two-story Salina Road home on Christmas Eve that was brought under control quickly without any injuries. Responders included Chief Frank Battaglia, Career Engine 942, Squad 2218 and Engine 931. Additional crews helped with overhaul and ventilation.
