Big wins at police awards

Several township officers won awards at the Oct. 23 ceremony, including lifesaving citations.

The 45th annual Gloucester County Police Awards ceremony was a good night for Deptford.

The Oct. 23 event at Adelphia saw several township officers take home awards.

Officer Brittany VanArsdale won two lifesaving awards, for twice saving a life. Officers Jason McClurg, Charles Dunne and Darius Mendoza took home the same award.

Capt. John Storms was granted an honorable discharge from service. Det. Josh Soper won two distinguished service awards and a unit citation. Sgt. Michael Tirado and Det. John Wisnofsky each took home two distinguished service awards, while detectives Thomas Mantici and Thomas Warrington each received one distinguished service award.
