A 23-year-old Delran man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for having sexual contact with three underage girls and possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his cell phone, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw.

Under an agreement with the prosecutor’s office, Keith R. Desousa Jr. pled guilty to three counts of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of possession of CSAM in the third degree. The sentence was handed down on Jan. 9 by Superior Court Judge Aimee Belgard in Mount Holly.

The investigation began in 2023 after one of the victims contacted police regarding her interaction with Desousa. An investigation confirmed that he communicated with all three victims through social media, offering to sell or exchange marijuana and other drugs for sex.

“Sexual offenses, particularly those against the young who are often defenseless, will be investigated, prosecuted and punished,” Bradshaw said.

Along with the prosecutor’s office, the investigation included the Maple Shade and Medford police departments.

Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Desousa is asked to send an email to tips@co.burlington.nj.us or call (609) 265-5035 and ask to speak to a detective in the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit.
