The General Election is nearly here, and voters will soon be heading to the polls to cast their ballots during either the early voting period or on Election Day, Nov. 4.

Voters still have one more opportunity to receive hands-on, in-person training on how to use the county voting machines this Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the County Corner Store located at 1020 Briggs Road in Mount Laurel. Staff from the Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Office will offer the machine tutorials from 4 to 7 p.m.

Voters can also become more familiar with the voting machines by watching a computer animation video that provides a step by step walk through on the process of voting with the machines. The three-minute video can be viewed on the Burlington County Elections and Voter Services page at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/593/Election-Voter-Services.

Early voting

Voters can use the machines on Election Day, Nov. 4, as well as during the nine-day early voting period beginning this Saturday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Nov. 2.

During the early voting period, a registered voter from any of Burlington County’s 40 municipalities can go to any of the nine early voting locations. This is different from Election Day when voters should go to their assigned polling spot in the town where they reside.

All nine locations will operate with the following hours during the early voting period: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The early voting locations are at the following locations:

–       Burlington Township at the Faith Deliverance Worship Center, 1304 Route 130 North;

–       Chesterfield at the Chesterfield Township Municipal Building, 295 Bordentown-Chesterfield Road;

–       Cinnaminson at the Cinnaminson Community Center, 902 Manor Road;

–       Evesham at the Blue Barn Recreational Facility, 1004 Tuckerton Road;

–       Medford at the Medford Township Municipal Building, 49 Union Street;

–       Mount Laurel at Rowan College at Burlington County Student Success Center, 1500 College Circle;

–       Pemberton Township at the Pemberton Community Library, 16 Broadway;

–       Tabernacle at the Tabernacle Rescue Squad Building, 134 New Road;

–       Willingboro at the Willingboro Public Library, 220 Willingboro Way.

Any registered voter is eligible to cast their ballot at an early voting location. However, voters who have already requested or received a vote-by-mail ballot who wish to vote at an early voting location or Election Day polling place will be required to vote with a provisional ballot to ensure that multiple votes are not cast by the same person. All valid provisional ballots are counted in the vote totals for each election.

Vote-by-mail voting is still an option.

Registered voters can still request a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot from the Burlington County Clerk’s Office until 3 p.m. on Nov. 3. Vote by mail applications are available online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/996/Vote-by-Mail-Information.

All requests for a voter to get a vote-by-mail ballot sent to them by mail must be received by the Clerk’s Office no later than Oct. 28. College students and voters living out of state should get their applications to the Clerk’s Office as quickly as possible. After Oct. 28, vote-by-mail requests can only be done in-person at either the Burlington County Elections Building at 301 Harper Drive, Moorestown, or at the County Clerk’s Office at 50 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly. The final day to request and receive a vote-by-mail ballot is Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.

Completed VBM ballots can be placed in any of 29 secure drop boxes located throughout the county. A list of the drop boxes is available at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/2102/Secure-Ballot-Drop-Boxes.

Voters may also hand deliver VBM ballots directly to the Burlington County Board of Elections office at 301 Harper Drive, Moorestown or they can be sent to the office via the U.S. Postal Service. All completed VBM ballots must be postmarked, placed in a secure drop box or hand-delivered to the Election Board before polls close at 8 p.m. on Nov. 4.

Voters with questions about the election and voting process can call the Burlington County Elections hotline at (609) 265-VOTE (8683).
