Work is scheduled to begin next week on repaving a portion of Georgetown-Wrightstown Road through Mansfield, Chesterfield and Springfield.

Pavement milling and overlay work is expected to begin on Tuesday, June 24, on a 2-mile section of Georgetown-Wrightstown Road, also known as County Route 545, from Georgetown Road in Mansfield to Route 537 (Monmouth Road) in Springfield. The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

During the project, southbound traffic on Georgetown-Wrightstown Road will be maintained, but northbound traffic will be detoured using Route 537, Route 68 and Route 206. Detour signs will be deployed, but motorists using the roads will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.

The work is being done by Arawak Paving Company Inc., of Hammonton, and is part of Burlington County’s annual road resurfacing program. A total of 33.4 miles of roadway in 16 Burlington County municipalities is expected to be resurfaced as part of Arawak’s repaving contract.
