The Burlington County Superintendent of Elections is offering weekly hands-on instruction and demonstrations of voting machines at County Corner Store offices between now and the November general election.

County election staffers will conduct tutorials every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store, 1020 Briggs Road in Mount Laurel; answer questions; and assist with other election-related matters, including voting by mail, new voter registration, updating existing registration information and removing a deceased relative from the voter rolls.

“Voting is a fundamental right, and we are proud to partner with the Burlington County clerk to make sure voters have all the information they need to exercise that right however they choose,” county elections Superintendent Dawn Marie Addiego.

The superintendent first sent staff and voting machines to the Corner Store last year, when weekly instruction was offered to voters before the 2024 primary and general elections. The tutorials were also offered before this year’s June primary. The voting machines have electronic ballot-marking devices and tabulators and are used during the early-voting period.

Voters unable to get to the Corner Store can familiarize themselves with voting machines by watching a computer animation video posted on the Burlington County Election and Voter Services page at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/593/Election-Voter-Services.

The county board of elections is also seeking residents interested in serving as poll workers during the general election on Nov. 4. By law, they must be U.S. citizens and county residents, and those 18 and older must also be registered as either a Republican or Democrat. No experience is needed, but mandatory in-person training is required.

Poll worker duties include unlocking voting machines and equipment; setting up electronic poll books; and registering voters. Pay is a minimum of $300 for the hours between 5:15 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.; workers will also be compensated for training.

To apply online, go to https://burlingtonnjted.precinctcentral.com/TED/ElectionForcePortal/JobApplication.aspx.

Interested residents can also request more information about poll worker duties and training by emailing RepPollworker@co.burlington.nj.us or DemPollworker@co.burlington.nj.us or by calling (609) 265-5557.
