GHS Class of 1965 reunion cancelled

The reunion committee for the Gloucester High School Class of 1965 has decided to cancel plans to hold its 55th year reunion for the time being. Money that was sent in for this reunion has been refunded.

“If you have not received your refund or any notice about the reunion cancellation, please contact one of the other members of the reunion committee,” members said.

The committee plans on meeting in the spring to evaluate the situation then, with hopes to restart planning and hold this event.

Benny Paul dart tournament postponed

The first annual Benny Paul dart tournament at the Brooklawn American Legion Hall on Jan. 23 has been postponed due to COVID-19.

Sponsors are needed for T-shirts, and proceeds benefit the family of Benny Paul, a longtime dart shooter who passed away recently.

Big Daddy’s Bench seeks food donations

Big Daddy’s Bench, 311 Orlando Ave., Gloucester City, is accepting donations of non-perishable foods to help needy families at Christmas.

There is a great need for pasta. Some other much-needed items are instant potatoes, canned veggies, stuffing, gravy, cereal, granola bars, mac and cheese, and soup.
