Evesham Township and the Evesham Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) are pleased to announce a new shared partnership with the launch of TextMyGov – a simple communication service tool that allows residents to receive important updates anywhere using text alerts. This new government SMS service makes it easier than ever for the community to stay informed through reliable text messages from Evesham Township and the Evesham MUA.

The Township and MUA will officially launch this mass text notification system in late October 2026. As part of this rollout, many residents may receive an initial government text message from 91896 on behalf of the Township and MUA to introduce the service. Participation is optional, and anyone may opt out at any time by texting STOP.

Residents who do not receive the initial message can opt in directly at any time by following these steps:

  1. Text the keyword EVESHAM to 91896.
  2. Reply YES when prompted to confirm subscription.

Once subscribed, residents may receive text messages from Evesham Township and the Evesham MUA related to upcoming events, important municipal updates, emergency information or other informational reminders.

This joint initiative reflects an ongoing commitment on behalf of Evesham Township and the Evesham MUA to enhance public communication using accessible, convenient digital tools.

As noted by Mayor Jaclyn Veasy, clear and accessible methods of communication with residents remain a top priority for township officials. As such, this new service will add to Evesham’s ongoing efforts through its consistently updated municipal website, active presence on multiple social media platforms, weekly Everyday Evesham email newsletter, seasonal print mailings of the Evesham Insider magazine directly to residents’ homes and the Evesham Connect township app available for download on mobile devices.

“We are constantly striving to make information about our township as readily available as possible,” Mayor Veasy said. “This new texting service is yet another step forward in that mission. We know people lead busy lives, so our goal is to meet our residents wherever they are – in this case right on their phones. We’re excited to provide another method to ensure residents get timely updates in the way that’s most convenient for them.”

Officials with the Evesham MUA are also looking forward to having access to this new tool in order to help reach residents with timely information.

“Partnering with the Township on this new service gives us a direct line of communication with our customers when timing matters most,” MUA Executive Director Jeffrey Booth said. “Whether we’re issuing alerts about planned maintenance, traffic detours due to unforeseen utility repairs, or other routine reminders, this platform allows us to deliver vital service updates straight to residents’ phones in real time.”

Evesham residents are once again encouraged to look for the initial government text message from the 91896 number later in October as the system fully launches, or to sign up directly if they do not receive the initial message.
