Pedestrian fatally struck while crossing roadways

The Cherry Hill Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle  accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at approximately 7:56 p.m. on Route 38 near Longwood Avenue.  

The initial investigation indicates a 36-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Route 38 when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel immediately responded to the scene. The pedestrian, identified as Michael V. Mancuso of Cherry Hill, was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained on scene, cooperating with  investigators. Route 38 was temporarily closed in both directions while the Cherry Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Unit conducted the on-scene investigation.  

The crash remains under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Department Traffic Safety Unit with assistance from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the  Medical Examiner.
