Music at Bunker Hill will present Songs of the Americas, featuring two Grammy Award-winning artists, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke and guitarist Jason Vieaux, on Sunday, October 18 at 3 p.m. The concert takes place at Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church, 330 Greentree Road in Sewell, NJ.

The program pairs Cooke’s voice with Vieaux’s guitar in music that ranges from Spanish song to American folk traditions and musical theater. It includes selections from Enrique Granados’s Tonadillas and Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, alongside works by Joaquín Rodrigo, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and others. Vieaux will also perform his composition Tidal Pools, featured on his new album of original solo guitar music, Gratitude, released September 18 on Azica Records.

Cooke has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera and other leading opera and concert stages and received two Grammy Awards. Vieaux is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist and Grammy winner. Together, they bring an intimate voice-and-guitar program to Music at Bunker Hill’s tri-state audience.

Tickets are $30 for adults and seniors and $5 for students with ID. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., and seating is unreserved. Advance online ticket purchase is advised. Hybrid format offers live and remote viewing. Tickets and program information are available at www.musicatbunkerhill.org/songs-of-the-americas.

This program is made possible in part by funding from The Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Rowan College of South Jersey, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Founded in 2008, Music at Bunker Hill brings great performers to the heart of southern New Jersey, enhancing the cultural life of our community by preserving the tradition of classical music while exploring other musical genres. With outreach concerts in schools and libraries, our artists inspire the next generation with their passion for the arts and standards of excellence. Our goal is to make great music affordable, accessible, and appealing to as many people as possible.
