Cherry Hill’s Wellness Walks resume on Wednesday, September 9 at the Cherry Hill Mall. This township-wide initiative seeks to improve the mind, body and spirit for a healthier and happier community. The walk begins at 9 a.m., inside the mall by the Seasons 52/Blue Fig entrance.

The walks are a part of Mayor Dave Fleisher’s Wellness Campaign (MWC), which seeks to improve the health and wellness of Cherry Hill residents and businesses by providing nutritional advice and recreational opportunities to help our residents get in shape and enjoy everything the community has to offer.

As part of the MWC, residents are able to take the Wellness Campaign Pledge. The pledge asks residents to commit to three goals. First and foremost is ‘Get Active’ by exercising at least three times a week for 30 minutes. The second is to ‘Eat Healthier’ by increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables, drinking more water, and limiting the consumption of junk food.

With the overall campaign, the township intends to identify and promote healthy cooking classes, provide educational seminars, and community activities, including our Parks and Recreation programs, fitness classes, and senior activities. Additional upcoming events include two more walks on October 28 and December 2 at 9 a.m. at the Cherry Hill Mall and Men’s Health and Sports Trivia on November 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carman Tilelli Community Center.

Trivia will be hosted by Cherry Hill resident, Rich Glazer. Glazer, a professional Sports Agent for over 25 years, represented hundreds of well-known pro-athletes, including Hall of Famers, through contract negotiations, broadcasting deals, endorsements, personal appearances, licensing deals, commercials and print advertising. He has also presented Sports Trivia Contests at hotels, casinos, libraries, sports bars, Men’s clubs, cruise ships, colleges, country clubs and Rotary groups.
