Washington Township police were called to the ACME in Sewell on May 30 after a disagreement among three groups about who should get the next Pokemon trading card from a vending machine in the lobby.
According to witnesses, three separate groups were waiting to purchase the Pokemon card from the machine, which resembles an ATM and is designed to release game inventory at random intervals so no single person can nab it all.
As the anticipated release approached, the groups disagreed over whose turn it was to access the machine, and there were reports of raised voices and an adult yelling at juveniles.
Two officers responded to the scene at about 7 p.m. and quickly deescalated the situation. The groups remained on scene, waited for the machine release and purchased their Pokémon cards without further incident.
