A traffic investigation determined the speed limit of 50 miles per hour on New Brooklyn-Erial Road (County Road 706) at three points is “somewhat fast.”

The township directed its traffic engineer, Environmental Resolutions Inc. (ERI), to conduct an investigation into that speed limit, completed last September.

ERI’s investigation concluded that because the area is in a suburban business or residential district and is in the vicinity of the recreational or park area, “the current speed limit of 50 mph is somewhat fast and recommends that the speed limit be reduced.”

A Jake’s Place Playground that opened in 2024 sits at New Brooklyn Park, 123 New Brooklyn-Erial Road. The all-inclusive playground is designed to allow children of all abilities to play together. It’s the third of its kind in Camden County.

The New Brooklyn Park location features inclusive park equipment, accessible surfacing, a picnic area, safety features and accessibility.

Kids Park Playground and New Brooklyn Disc Golf Course are also in the area.
