The Winslow Township Middle School social studies department recently hosted its annual geography bee for seventh- and eighth-graders.
All students had the opportunity to take part in a qualifying test during their social studies classes, and 30 advanced to the final competition. Families were invited to attend, while classmates tuned in via live-stream.
Teacher Eric Steiner hosted the bee, along with fellow instructors Christine Reiter, Alfred Sauter and Noah Schmotzer as judges.
First place went to Amar Patel, second to Marcus Wagman and third to Mason Furaro. They earned Chick-fil-A gift cards, and Patel also received a custom trophy created by the middle school’s robotics STEM students.

Amar Patel, Marcus Wagman and Mason Furaro were the three winners of the township middle-school’s geography bee.
