It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of Mark Gravinese, a dedicated public servant and cherished member of our Harrison Township family, who passed away on April 26. He was 68.

Mark proudly served as our township administrator for 11 years, and for many years prior, volunteered on the recreation committee. Through his leadership, passion and unwavering commitment, Mark played a significant role in shaping the Harrison Township we know and love today.

Mark was more than a colleague; he was a trusted leader, a mentor and a friend to many of us. His steady guidance, thoughtful decision making and genuine care for our community left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten. Whether working behind the scenes or attending our community events, Mark always put the township first.

On behalf of the township committee, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Mark’s family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time.

Mark’s funeral took place on May 1, but his legacy will live on in the community he helped build and in the many lives he touched along the way.
