Spring has just arrived and warmer weather leads to yardwork.
The Voorhees Township Public Works Department is assisting in this chore by offering spring leaf collection as well as vegetation and yard-waste removal. Signs will be posted at the entrance of each development prior to the scheduled leaf collection week. The schedule is available on the township Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Next Door pages, and on the municipal website under Public Works at www.voorheesnj.com.
OPTION 1:
Place loose leaves curbside in front of your home. Due to the unpredictability of weather, the Public Works Department cannot guarantee any additional passes once a street has been vacuumed. Keep your leaf pile free of branches and twigs which will clog the machine.
Leaves will be collected by the leaf vacuum machine according to the schedule below:
TUESDAY TRASH DAY: April 6-10
WEDNESDAY TRASH DAY: April 13-17
THURSDAY TRASH DAY: April 20-24
FRIDAY TRASH DAY: April 27 to May 1
OPTION 2:
- Place cans or biodegradable bags curbside by 6 a.m. Monday. Collection will be within one to three business days. No plastic bags. Don’t mix regular trash with leaves in cans or biodegradable bags. Leaves are recycled separately.
- Do not place leaves, grass or vegetative waste in blue trash carts or green recycle carts. Continue to place vegetation in cands or brown bio-degradable bags.
- – The Voorhees Township Police K-9 Unit and Voorhees Township Police Foundation are proud sponsors of the benefit car Show on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Center. There will be music, food vendors, K-9 demos and a tactical vehicle display. The entry fee $20 and no pre-registration is required. For more information, call Lt. - – Dog and cat licenses are valid from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of each year. Fees are $12 for a spayed/neutered dog/cat and $15 for a non-spayed/non-neutered dog/cat. Voorhees extends the deadline to obtain the license to May 10 of each year. Licenses obtained after that date will incur a $25 late fee that is capped at two pets.
