The Monroe Township Historical Society will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, to host Voices of Courage, an event that honors the powerful voices of African American women who shaped the 19th century.

The free presentation at Pfeiffer Community Center will feature a performance from nationally known, award‑winning storyteller Queen Nur, who will bring to life the stories of Maria W. Stewart, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Cathy Williams, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, Ida B. Wells, Mary Church Terrell and Mary McLeod Bethune.

Presenters of the event – along with the historical society – are the Gloucester County Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Williamstown Civic Group and the African American Inventors Museum. Registration is required in advance at eventbrite.com.
