The township is establishing a new advisory body to help guide its environmental protection, conservation planning and open-space preservation efforts.

The new Open Space Conservation and Environmental Stewardship Committee will combine the work of the former Environmental Advisory and Open Space Advisory committees into one coordinated group that will advise council and other township agencies.

Members will help promote conservation initiatives; support public education on environmental topics; maintain inventories of natural resources; and provide input on planning efforts, including the township’s master plan and environmental resources inventory. The committee will also coordinate with Save the Environment of Moorestown to support broader education and advocacy.

Residents with an interest in environmental protection and related issues are encouraged to apply for the new committee’s membership. To learn more, visit www.moorestown.nj.us.
