Fire department awards promotions

The township fire department has announced the promotions of several department personnel who were all sworn in at a recent meeting.

They are:

  • – Battalion Chief Chris Santone to deputy chief/operations
  • – Capt. Mark Vanselous to battalion chief, A Platoon
  • – Capt. Mario Scullan to battalion chief, B Platoon
  • – Lt. Scott Callahan to captain, facilities/motor maintenance
  • – Lt. Ryan Chenier to captain, Station 363C
  • – Firefighter Curt VanMater to lieutenant, Station 362B
  • – Firefighter Brandon King to lieutenant, Station 363A

The promoted personnel will begin their new assignments in the coming weeks.

Battalion Chief Mike Denelsbeck and new Battalion Chief Scullan were the recipients of Class IV Merit Awards that recognize administrative contributions/accomplishments resulting in substantial improvements in the operation, effectiveness or image of the fire department. It means that a member has gone above and beyond the scope of his/her duty to improve the overall efficiency of the service.
