With the 2025-’26 school year now at its halfway mark, the Clearview Regional School District has begun preparing for the next school year in September.

“While it’s not officially a ‘new year’ in regard to a school year,” Superintendent John Horchak explained, “we are monitoring the status of the initiatives for the current year, while developing plans for the subsequent school year. We are actively working on several initiatives and improvements that will take effect in September 2026.”

The curriculums for 2026-’27 are currently under development and will result in updated course offerings and academic outings for students, at both the middle and high school. Among the updates will be additional offerings in the district’s STEM programs.

“We want to add new and expanded course offerings, particularly in the STEM areas, designed to increase student choice and better align with college, career and workforce readiness,” said Horchak. “We also want to review and refine existing courses to ensure alignment with updated state standards and district priorities.”

Exact changes have yet to be disclosed, but will be at a later date, according to the district, which wants to provide resources for students and teachers to improve classroom dynamics.

“We aim to make technology and instructional resource purchases to enhance classroom instruction,” Horchak noted. “We’ll have staffing and professional development planning to support new courses and programs.”

The district also hopes that the last of the 2022 bond referendum improvements will be finished before the new school year. While some projects – such as the turf football field at the high school and STEM lab at the middle school – are already complete, others remain, and those projects will be revealed at a later date.

Other parts of the referendum will include HVAC upgrades and more enhanced school security. They are among the summer maintenance plans and capital improvements that Clearview aims to complete before September.

The district also will begin to implement its newly established athletic hall of fame, a project recently approved by the school board. It will honor the accomplishments of Clearview athletes, teams and coaches.
