Mullica Hill celebrated its annual Lights on Main event – and the kickoff to the Christmas season – along Main Street on Nov. 29.
According to the township, the event saw around 10,000 people crowd the street to partake in the festivities, including live bands, the Mummers, bounce houses for kids and a meeting with Santa.
The street was lit up at about 7:30 p.m. and this year’s tree, which stands beside Main Street’s Old Town Hall, lit up the night sky. The honor of lighting the tree went to Mayor Adam Wingate, his first time in that role.
“It’s always beautiful to see,” said Recreation Coordinator Sharon Chew. “It’s like a Hallmark movie. The street was full of families that all had a good time. It was just perfect.”
Among Lights on Main participants was local meteorologist “Nor’Easter” Nick Pittman, who mingled with attendees and covered the event for social media.
“The holiday season is alive and well in Mullica Hill,” he noted. “It is such a cute little town; it’s all decked out for Christmas.”
Also attending Lights on Main was Amy Mansue, the CEO of event sponsor Inspira Health. Several local businesses also were sponsors who helped fund the event and were in attendance, including Top Rail Fence South Jersey.
“What an unforgettable night in Mullica Hill,” the company said on social media. “Lights on Main 2025 was pure magic from start to finish, and we’re still smiling ear to ear.”
Lights on Main took the combined efforts of the Harrison Township Recreation Commission, the police and fire departments and the township committee to organize, maintain and clean up.
“We had the help of the (commission), who assisted with road closures and the crowd,” Chew said. “We work as a community to handle that kind of crowd.”
