Happenings around Gloucester County

The South Jersey Museum of American History is located at 138 Andaloro Way. The museum’s permanent exhibits include artifacts from the Pre-Columbian through the Colonial Eras, American Farmstead, Antique hand tools and equipment, the Pine Barrens, Glass and a Fossil exhibit.

“Led by Love” Family Caregiver Support Group meetings are held monthly throughout the year from 9 a.m. to noon at 115 Budd Blvd., West Deptford. Next date is Nov. 19.

Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. Participants receive a complete midday meal Monday through Friday, with frozen meals available for weekends. For more information call (856) 686-8325.

Gloucester County Senior Nutrition Sites offer well-balanced midday meals for residents 60 plus at Second Baptist Church, Paulsboro; First Baptist Church of Jericho, Deptford; Greenfields Volunteer Fire Company, Deptford; Pfeiffer Community, Williamstown; Glassboro Senior Center, Glassboro; and Mantua Township Community Center, Sewell. Gloucester County Nature Club

The Gloucester County Nature Club meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month, September through June, and are free and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.gcnatureclub.org.

Blood Drives

The American Red Cross urges donors to keep the blood supply top of mind and help save lives by making an appointment to give blood or platelets – especially those with types O and B negative. Those who give through Nov. 16 will receive a $20 e-gift card to a merchant of choice, plus be automatically entered for a chance to win one of three $5,000 gift cards. Throwback dance party – the Ultimate Gen X experience – will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pfeiffer Community Center.

Thursday, Nov. 20

Senior Friendsgiving will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pfieffer Community Center.

Monroe Township Police Explorers

Meetings first and third Monday each month at 7 p.m., Monroe Township police headquarters. Open to those ages 14-21. Learn career-based skills designed to educate and prepare for a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.

Military Tribute Banner Program

Shades of Harmony – Award-Winning Women’s Chorus – Join Region 19’s First Place Division A Chorus, Shades of Harmony, for weekly rehearsals full of music, friendship, and fun!
