The Moorestown Lions Club will have its 64th annual holiday parade at noon on Saturday, Dec. 6.
The parade route will begin at the intersection of Chester and Central avenues, then proceed up Main Street to its end point at Church and Main. As always, the parade will proceed come rain, shine, snow or cold and will feature local and county organizations, marching bands, Mummers, floats and other festive attractions.
The Lions Club began the yearly tradition in 1961 as a celebration of the season and Moorestown spirit for all residents. This year’s theme is winter wonderland.
There will be three prizes awarded to each of the marchers and floats (first, second, third). Winning groups will be notified directly, but will also be posted at the library in online.
Main Street from Church to Chester will be blocked from traffic by 11:30 a.m. Streets leading to the parade starting point at Chester and Central will have barriers erected to limit traffic in the area beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Once again this year will be a “quiet zone,” where bands will not play (or play softly) for the first leg of the parade on Chester heading to Main and at the train tracks along Third Street.
