Why are you running for an elected seat?

I am a former student of the district where I attended Radix Elementary, Oak Knoll Middle School and Williamstown High School. I want to work with the Board of Education to take the steps necessary to ensure all students in the district receive an education that truly is student centric. That educators are empowered to do what they love and that the academic environment is not only rigorous, but one that provides all students with the tools and resources that will help them succeed in whatever path they choose post-graduation.

What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?

Coming in from a customer relations background, I always take a listen-first approach. This would enable me to ensure that the issues currently facing our district as well as those that will come next, will always be addressed in a fair and united manner. With that in mind and a student centric philosophy, as a board of education team, we will be focused on listening to the concerns of the parents and taxpayers within our community.

I’m running for reelection to keep politics out of our schools, prioritize our 5,800 students, and ensure fiscal responsibility. I’m committed to enhancing learning through updated curricula and extracurriculars while upgrading school facilities. As board president, I focus on high educational standards and efficient budgeting to respect taxpayers. My term ends in 2025, and I want to continue this work with the team.

I also served on the Williamstown High School Football Huddle Club, holding the position of Member, Vice President and President.

Why are you running for an elected seat?

Throughout my life, I have participated in community service in one form or another. My parents raised me to believe that you need not only to care for your family but, you need to care for your community. Since residing in Monroe Township, I have continued working to help make this a good community for my sons and other children. And as a member of the board, I believe I can continue to help make this a good community for our current children and for those to come.

What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?

There are several areas I would like to be involved with. However, with my background in law enforcement, I would especially like to concentrate on safety in our schools. Unfortunately, over the last several years, schools in our country have experienced horrific events. I want to continue my work on increasing the security level throughout our school district. If done correctly, the changes would allow easier access for parents and authorized visitors while preventing unauthorized individuals from entering the schools. Protection of our students and staff must be a priority.

My wife and I are active at town events and programs, and our daughter is part of the WMS Band and Choir, who frequently appear in local parades and festivals. We also organized a community cleanup in our development in partnership with the town hall. My wife and I were also active participants of the Radix PTA when our children were there and remain involved at WMS activities and fundraisers. As a current board member, I frequently attend district-wide and school-based events to support our programs, teachers and students. I also serve on the board’s committee, Bridges for Achievement, which is focused on ensuring that all children have equal access to learning.

Why are you running for an elected seat?

Our district has made steady progress through the stable, high-quality governance and leadership that I voted to approve, alongside my fellow board members. As a superintendent of schools, I bring a unique perspective that bridges the board’s role in governance, the administration’s leadership, and the community’s interest in having high-quality learning environments and experiences for all students. I also wish to remain on the board to ensure that it and our district remain politically neutral environments.

What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?

As a board member, I am committed to not administrating our schools, but to ensure that the district is well run. I would like to concentrate on learning more from the New Jersey School Boards Association on governance to ensure that I stay current and well-trained on my duties as a representative to the community. I pledge to continue to operate with transparency and integrity.

Name: Rosemarie Mohr

Why are you running for an elected seat?

I am running for the Monroe Township Board of Education to ensure that every student has access to a high-quality, well-rounded education in a safe and supportive environment. I believe strong schools build strong communities, and I am committed to fostering academic excellence, transparency and collaboration between families, educators and the district. By prioritizing students, supporting teachers and listening to parents,  I will work to make thoughtful, responsible decisions that strengthen our schools today and for the future.

What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?

Creating a strong, safe, and creative environment for students in Monroe involves fostering collaboration among educators, parents and community members. Prioritizing mental-health resources, implementing proactive safety measures and encouraging open communication can build trust. Integrating arts and hands-on learning experiences promotes creativity, allowing students to explore their interests. Providing diverse extra-curricular activities and resources ensures all students feel included and valued. Regularly gathering feedback from students enhances their sense of ownership in their educational experience, creating a vibrant community where everyone thrives. Together, we can nurture an inspiring atmosphere conducive to academic and personal growth.

How many years have you lived in Monroe Township/Williamstown? 15 – lifetime

Community Involvement: Collectively, very active in volunteering for many organizations such as, but not limited to: Open Space Committee, Road Company Theater, various religious organizations/churches, Community support groups, etc.

Why are you running for an elected seat?

As a group we are unhappy with the way the Board is currently being run. Despite our opponent’s statements, we do not feel they are transparent at all and lack sufficient integrity that our children being educated and their parents deserve. We will change this by better representing the parent’s concerns.

What is one area you would like to concentrate on if elected?

Each of us has areas that we’d like to focus on but the key items we plan to focus on as a group are special needs, improving academic standards, student learning assessment, parent-student-teacher collaboration and professional development all while being mindful of budgetary constraints to keep our school district as affordable as possible. We will always put the Monroe Kids First.
