Burlington County Superintendent of Elections staff demonstrate how to use a voting machine during the Burlington County Senior Expo at the Masonic Home in Burlington Township. The Superintendent of Elections staff will offer similar voting machine tutorials and demonstrations of county voting machines twice-a-week at the County Corner Store in Mount Laurel.
The Nov. 4 General Election is fast-approaching, and the Burlington County Superintendent of Elections is expanding its outreach to ensure voters know their options for registering to vote and how to use the county’s voting equipment.
Superintendent of Elections staff are now offering hands-on tutorials and demonstrations of county voting machines twice-a-week at the County Corner Store at 1020 Briggs Road, Mount Laurel. The tutorials are available every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m., now until the early voting begins on Oct. 25.
In addition to machine tutorials and demos, Elections staff on-site will answer questions and assist with other election-related matters, including registering new voters, updating voter registration information and removing a deceased relative from the voter registration list. Vote-by-mail applications will also be available for those interested in that voting method.
“Voting is a fundamental right, and we want to make sure voters have all the information they need to exercise that right however they choose,” said Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Dawn Marie Addiego. “Whether you are a new voter registering for the first time, have a question about vote-by-mail or just looking for a refresher or practice with the voting machine, our staff are there to assist.”
This is the second year that the Superintendent of Elections has sent staff and voting machines to the County Corner Store. The tutorials were offered to voters before last year’s Primary Election and General Election. They were offered again this year before the Primary Election and have continued through the summer.
In addition to the Wednesday evening and Saturday tutorials, the Superintendent of Elections Office is also scheduled to offer machine tutorials at several upcoming community events and locations:
