In an effort to bring the community together, the township committee has begun spotlighting Mantua businesses both large and small.

Committee members met with local business owners at the beginning of July to connect with them on a more personal level. Pictures of the interactions and the stories behind them are then posted on the township’s social media pages.

“We’re always trying to find new and innovative ways to bring our community together and highlight the many great things we have here in Mantua,” said Mayor Robert Zimmerman.

Businesses spotlighted so far include Main Street Salon, Santini’s II Pizzeria and Restaurant, Dippy’s Ice Cream, Target, Wendy’s and the Barnsboro Inn. More businesses are expected to be showcased in the coming weeks.

One of the goals of the initiative is to introduce people to businesses in the community they might not have known about otherwise.

“The township committee and I are always trying to foster relationships in our community, and building stronger partnerships between the township and local business owners helps to open the doors for feedback and collaboration,” Zimmerman explained.

“It also allows me the opportunity to learn myself and pass along something unique, historical, an accomplishment, or even a fun fact about each business to our residents.”

Business owners who would like to be spotlighted can reach out to the mayor by email at rzimmerman@mantuatownship.com.

“It’s not just a way to spotlight the businesses on social media, it’s about building bonds to better serve our community as a whole,” Zimmerman noted. “It’s about showing our sincere appreciation for the businesses in our community and letting each know that they’re valued and cherished publicly.”
