The Animal Welfare Association’s partnership with Voorhees Township and the township police department continues to grow in meaningful ways.
This summer, the police K-9 Unit visited AWA’s Youth Summer Camp, giving campers a chance to see these highly trained dogs in action. The officers shared important dog safety tips and demonstrated the impressive skills of their canines. These visits are a highlight of AWA camp sessions and a wonderful example of the connection between AWA and our local law enforcement.
This year, the Animal Welfare Association’s calendar is packed with opportunities for families,
pet lovers and supporters to get involved. On Friday, Aug. 1, AWA will host its next Barking
Lot Sips & Brews happy hour. This fun, pet-friendly evening will feature local beer and wine
vendors, lawn games, adoptable pets and a chance to meet fellow animal enthusiasts right in the
AWA parking lot.
On Friday, Aug. 16, the AWA will welcome everyone to a family fun night,” a lively event with
face painting, snacks, crafts and a visit from Paw Patrol’s Marshall that kids will love. Also not to be missed is Raining Cats, a celebration of all things feline. Throughout August, the AWA will highlight its adoptable cats and kittens and offer $75 cat and kitten adoptions.
Whether you are looking to adopt or just want to support the cause, it’s the perfect time to get

Summer hours for town hall are in effect until Tuesday, Sept. 2. Offices are open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Friday.
The third show of our summer concert series at Connolly Park is on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 7:30 p.m. The Beat Tells will entertain the audience with their tribute to the Beatles.
