The Voorhees Township Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out on Tuesday,
Aug. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Town Center.
Take the opportunity to meet and interact with our local police officers, K-9 units and first
responders. As always, the event is free and will feature drone displays, food trucks, a petting zoo, bounce houses, games and food. There will also be a K-9 demonstration.
The evening’s activities are sponsored by the Girl Scouts, SERVPRO, Target, Mackenzie Martial
Arts, the Voorhees Art Commission, Volunteers of America, ADT Alarm Company, the Flyers
Training Center, the Voorhees fire department and the Voorhees Citizens Event Foundation. We
thank them for their generosity.
National Night Out is a national effort that started in 1984 and promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer and better place in which to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while encouraging a sense of community and providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together.
Citizens, law-enforcement agencies; community groups; businesses; youth organizations; and
local, state and federal officials take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities
from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide.
The best way to prevent crime is to know your neighbors and your surroundings. National Night
Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own
communities.

Summer hours for town hall will be in effect until Tuesday, Sept. 2. Offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Friday.
Voorhees is once again partnering with Morey’s Piers to offer discounted tickets for
its amusement piers on the Boardwalk in Wildwood. Tickets can be obtained in
person from the office of the township clerk and are payable by cash only. They are available to residents and non-residents.
