County 4-H Fair geared to families

The annual Gloucester County 4-H fair takes place from Thursday, July 24, to Sunday, July 27, at the Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds, 275 Bridgeton Pike (Route 77) in Mullica Hill.

The four-day fair is family friendly, with shows that will highlight the skills 4-Hers have developed throughout the year. There will be equestrian demonstrations; dog agility and obedience shows; livestock exhibits showcasing proper animal care; and educational displays that will include differences between rabbit breeds and reptiles and amphibians.

In addition to 4-H Club exhibits, there will be activities for kids, craft and food vendors and daily musical performances. Events will include a livestock auction (Friday at 7:30 p.m.), draft horse pulls (Saturday at 7:30 p.m.), a car show (Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.) and tractor pulls (Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m.).

Fairgoers can enjoy barbecue Jersey Fresh produce from Thursday to Saturday and fair favorites like art contests, a mechanical bull and pony rides will return due to popular demand. New this year are kiddie amusement rides (Thursday and Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m.), and a Fair Royalty competition on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The 4-H fair draws more than 20,000 attendees each year from across the tri-state area. Proceeds fund activities, facilities and services that benefit 4-H kids. The 4-H program is supported by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, the county board of commissioners, private contributors and countless volunteers.

Hours of operation for 4-H are Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the fair, visit the 2025 Gloucester County 4-H Fair Facebook group.
