Primary election results in county

Voters headed to the polls on June 10 to pick candidates who will compete in November’s general election.

In Tabernacle, there are two, three-year seats open on the township committee. Republican incumbent William J. Sprague and Republican candidate Angelo Capoli will run for the seats in an uncontested race in November. There are no Democratic candidates.

In Southampton, there are two, three-year seats open on the township committee. Four candidates vied in the contested Republican primary. There are no Democratic candidates.

Republicans Elizabeth H. Rossell, currently deputy mayor, and Arnold E. Harrison III, a committeeman, received 748 votes and 732 votes, respectively, to beat Joseph M. Hoey and Ramilia Scott, who received 653 votes and 407 votes, respectively. Rossell and Harrison will run on the Burlington County Republican line will run for the seats in an uncontested race in November.

In Shamong, there are two, three-year term seats open on the township committee. Three candidates vied in the contested Republican primary race. Michael S. DiCroce, the current mayor, and Michael Southwick received 536 votes and 462 votes, respectively, over Neil R. Wilkinson, a committeeman who received 318 votes in his bid for reelection.

DiCroce and Southwick, also running on the Burlington County Republican line, will face Democratic candidate Anastasia Zuaccaro, who is running on the county Democratic line, in November.
