Pioneer pen pals

For the past few months, eighth-graders at Clearview Middle School have partnered with National Honor Society 11th graders from Clearview High in a pilot pen pal program called Pioneer Partners. The program paired the 40 students and had them write letters back and forth to each other.

The letters addressed student interests but also included questions the younger students had about entering high school next year. The older students offered advice about classes and activities and tips on making the transition easier. The participants finally meet face to face on May 29 and had breakfast together at the high school.
