The South Jersey Museum of American History is located at 138 Andaloro Way. Through June 1st, the Museum will be presenting a World War II Exhibit featuring military as well as civilian paraphernalia. Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. On Arbor Day help the township succeed in its community-wide campaign, Washington Township Re-Leaf. Overall, the township hopes to plant 5,000 trees over 10 years. Plant a tree, or select a spot to plant the tree seedling that can be picked up at its giveaway on May 3.

Bird Walk in the Park at Washington Lake Park with expert birders Marie Hageman and Lloyd Shaw at 7:30 a.m. Bring your own binoculars. Program is presented in partnership with the Gloucester County Nature Club. Registration not required, but requested, by email to: WTEC@twp.washington.nj.us.
The 17th Annual Classic Car Show will be held at Olde Stone House village, 208 Egg Harbor Road. It is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 26 with a rain date of April 27.

The Friends of the Olde Stone House Village at 208 Egg Harbor Road will host their fourth Plein Air event at the Olde Stone House Village from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date June 1). Artists will create two dimensional artworks at the site and prizes will be awarded at the conclusion by judge/art teacher Nicole Schmitt. Families are welcome to come watch the artists, tour the historic grounds, and shop the vendors. The Washington Township Veterans Wall of Honor is accepting applications. Please note that eligibility to have a plaque on the Wall is: a Veteran who is a resident of Washington Township at the time of entrance into the military, a current resident, a member of a current resident’s immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, or child). Kindly include the Veteran’s DD 214 and submit a 5×7 photo, preferably in uniform. Applications are available in the Municipal Building. License Your Furry Friend. Licensing your dog is not just a state requirement, but it also helps reunite lost pets with their owners and supports local animal services. The licenses expire Jan. 31 of each year.
The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. The Washington Township Police Department is participating in the new Special Needs Registry and Blue Envelope Program sponsored by the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. The registry gives police quick access in an emergency to critical information about a person who is registered. Individuals will also get a blue window decal as well as a blue envelope for their vehicle. These items let the police know that the occupants have a physical or mental condition that may not be apparent to the officer on scene. The Washington Township Historical Preservation Commission is looking for volunteers and commissioner positions. The volunteer must be interested in history and participate in the yearly events. HPC meets on the third Thursday of each month at the municipal building at 7 p.m. The HPC has seven to eight fundraising events to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the Olde Stone House Village.
