The initiative – funded by the state and led by New Jersey community colleges and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association – builds on an unprecedented collaborative effort to align education and training with the rapidly evolving needs of employers, ensuring the development of a highly skilled workforce.

“Rowan College of South Jersey is proud to serve as the Center for Workforce Innovation Lead Institution for Manufacturing and Supply Chain Logistics,” said Rowan’s president, Fred Keating. “Together, we will align our educational goals with the state of New Jersey’s critical workforce needs, fulfilling the goals of this NJ Pathways to Career Opportunities Initiative.”

“As we continue to advance this groundbreaking initiative, we are taking strategic steps to enhance our impact, with a particular focus on our Centers of Workforce Innovation and empowering the Lead Institutions to drive meaningful change,” said Catherine Starghill, vice president of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges.

“This year, we introduce new pathways in fields such as geographic information systems and 3D printing, while strengthening existing pathways to ensure they remain aligned with evolving industry needs.”

The eight centers of workforce innovation are data and computer science; patient care; construction; renewable energy; manufacturing and supply chain logistics; film and television production; aseptic processing; and biomanufacturing and learning, teaching and research.
