The Moorestown Improvement Association (MIA) has a number of events planned for the spring. All MIA programs are free and open to the public, regardless of whether you’re a member of the organization.
The organization’s annual meeting will be held at the Community House on Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m. This program will focus on historical preservation in town. Many of Moorestown’s historic structures have disappeared for various reasons. Attendees will take a virtual scavenger hunt through the years, with a presentation that looks at photographs of areas around town and points out what stood in those locations in years past.
The MIA’s spring walking tour will be held on Sunday, May 4, at 1 p.m., starting at Perkins Center for the Arts. This year’s tour will highlight West Main Street from Church Street to Perkins.
The MIA’S Fixers Fair will be held at the Moorestown Library on Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. After its successful initial fair last September, the organization will again partner volunteer “fixers” with residents to repair broken household items and save them from the landfill.
Last year’s fair featured nine booths and more than a dozen items repaired by the end of the day. Bring items that need fixing, such as bikes, lamps, jewelry, small engines and guitars.

The MIA will also participate in the township’s annual Arbor Day observances on Friday, April 25, the spring revitalization and cleanup day for Remembrance Park on Saturday, May 3, and Moorestown Day on Saturday, June 7.
Students graduating from high school this June are invited to submit applications for MIA’s two scholarships. The organization seeks candidates who exemplify leadership, service and participation in activities that help make Moorestown and/or the greater community a better place to live.
