Deptford Middle School AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) teacher Jennifer Liguori set up a career fair on March 7 that welcomed representatives from a variety of departments at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The CHOP attendees joined several of the school district’s own staff members on the panel. About 80 AVID students in grades seven and eight had the opportunity to speak with the CHOP professionals one on one and ask questions about their jobs, practicing their business and interpersonal skills.

“Our Spartans performed extremely well and learned a lot from this experience,” the school district said on Facebook. “Thank you to Ms. Liguori and all the student and adult participants, with a special shoutout to our eighth-grade student speakers Joel Kissi, Kendall Haynes, Jaslene Pagaduan and David Gordon.”
