Performances for Moorestown High School’s spring musical, “Once Upon a Mattress,” will take place in the high-school auditorium on Saturday and Sunday; Friday, Feb. 28; and Monday, March 3, at 7 p.m. There will be a performance on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain (played by student Audrey Barr) decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless (played by Teddy Simek), found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the queen.

That is, until the shy swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone (played by Estella Mueller), showed up. Would she be able to pass the sensitivity test, marry her prince and help Lady Larken (Angela Cucinotta) and Sir Harry (Tyler Mark) to the altar?

“Once Upon a Mattress” – a spin on the classic tale “The Princess and the Pea” – is directed and choreographed by Erica Scanlon Harr; with vocal direction by Jonathan Rose; orchestra direction by Greg Connlain; set, costumes, hair and makeup by Erin Cramer; lights by Dee Dugan and Chris Miller; sound design by Jeffrey Redwanowski; and business management by Greg Harr.
