Middle-school students in the classes of Tamresa Betz and Heather Imhof celebrated baseball legend Jackie Robinson’s birthday on Jan. 31 by creating projects they shared with each other. Their work included posters, essays, speeches and other creative demonstrations of number 42 -Robinson’s number on the Brooklyn Dodgers team – and a legacy of promoting civil rights. The session spotlighted other movement figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and Malcolm X.
