Birds and Bare Branches. Moorestown Library. 1 p.m. Learn about the resident and migratory birds that are found in Southern New Jersey in the winter months in a photographic slide show depicting species from ducks to eagles to finches. This program is presented by Burlington County Park Naturalist Jen Bulava. Concert: Brian Betz Jazz Trio. Life that Glows: UV-Induced Visible Fluorescence. Moorestown Library. 1 p.m. To find out what fluoresces in our area, Burlington County Park Naturalist Jen Bulava started a series called Life That Glows, where participants walk in the dark with special UV flashlights to find glowing life. This presentation displays the photographic observations from those outings and summarizes preliminary findings of Bulava’s research in this exciting new field to science, UVIVF. “They Were Good Soldiers: African Americans Serving in the Continental Army, 1775-1783.” Moorestown Library. 7 p.m. Historian John U. Rees will speak about his book” They Were Good Soldiers: African Americans Serving in the Continental Army, 1775-1783,” which examines the role of African Americans, most free but some enslaved, in the regiments of the Continental Army.
