The trip to the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on April 15 is open to both kids and adults.
The Harrison Township Recreation Commission will host a bus trip to the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, April 15.
The bus will depart Ella Harris Park at 8 a.m. Tickets are now on sale at eventbrite.com for the show, a 30th anniversary edition of the theater’s production of “Noah” that offers its own take on the Bible story of Noah’s Ark. The trip is open to both kids and adults, with a reduction in price for children ages 4 to 12.
“We decided to book the trip in April since it’s so popular,” said recreation coordinator Sharon Chew. “We always get a charter bus, and we hope to get 56 total people. The spots for those seats are currently halfway full.
“I’m hoping we get more little ones,” she added. “Since it’s the Bible story, the kids get a kick out of it. It even includes live animals in the show.”
The show will begin at 11 a.m. Attendees will head to a smorgasbord buffet for dinner and can browse a nearby shopping center. The bus will depart Lancaster at 6 p.m. and is expected back in Mullica Hill at about 7:30.
The recreation commission has been sponsoring trips to the theater for 15 years, according to Chew, with productions that vary each year.
“Everyone (eagerly) waits for the trips,â she said. “People like having a guided program to work around. They like having a bus, so they donât have to drive themselves and have to worry about parking.”
The commission hosted another trip to the Sight and Sound Theatre last year; a second trip has yet to be determined. There is also an annual trip to Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan for the annual Rockettes holiday production.
Tickets for the Lancaster are non-refundable, but should the trip be canceled, purchasers will be reimbursed.
