Homegrown Moorestown will host the township’s Santa stroll on Sunday.

The event is a fundraiser. The Community House of Moorestown, Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) and King’s Road Brewing Company have partnered to establish New Jersey’s first education-based microbrewery right on Main Street. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to support this program.

Participants are encouraged to wear festive gear including Santa costumes, hats, jingle bells, elf costumes, reindeer antlers and/or snowman costumes as they gather with friends and family to stroll or run one mile or three miles through town in a holiday atmosphere.

“Santa stroll is a family friendly event,” said Gretchen Simmerson, co-founder of Homegrown Moorestown. “We are expecting people to dress up in festive attire … what gets them in the holiday spirit.”

Solo registration for the event is $20. Family registration (three-plus family members) is $55. Participants should check in at registration in the library room of the Community House. Check-in will be at 11 a.m. The stroll begins at noon. The course begins from the Community House parking lot onto East Prospect Avenue and continues on a 1-mile loop along Paul Drive, Wagon Bridge Run and Parry Drive.

Participants can choose their own course length by adding additional loops. All strollers must be cleared from the roads by 1 p.m. Wristbands will be issued to each registrant. After the stroll, participants can trade their wristband for their choice of one complimentary hot chocolate or King’s Road beer. There will also be pretzels and holiday music.

Guests are also welcome to watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Washington Commanders at the Community House at 1 p.m.

Event sponsors include Moorestown Pride and Morrone, Kaye & Yucha Orthodontics – Moorestown. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.homegrownmoorestown.com/santa-stroll.

“We’re just hoping it’s a good, community event,” Simmerson noted. “It’s really low key and we want it to be fun and festive.”

The Community House, Rowan and King’s Road are working with JRP Architects of Riverton, Grace Construction of Moorestown and township officials to design plans for the microbrewery, while the venue rolls out fundraising goals to help bring the project to fruition.

With an eye toward meeting all conditions set forth by the township and New Jersey’s Alcoholic Beverage Control board, the Community House is hoping the microbrewery will be operational by late 2025 or early 2026. To learn more, visit www.communityhousebrewery.com.
