Celebrate the season at winter fest

Carolers in Victorian attire will perform at Burlington County’s winter fest on Saturday at Historic Smithville Park.

Historic Smithville Park will be transformed into a holiday wonderland during Saturday’s winter fest celebration.

The annual event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. on park grounds in Eastampton. Visitors will see a Victorian village and mansion decked out in holiday finery and will hear from wandering carolers dressed in appropriate attire. The winter fest will have free activities both indoors and out. They will include:

  • Meetings with Santa
  • A performance of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol”
  • Carved ice sculptures
  • Skating on a synthetic ice rink
  • An Elf hunt with Buddy
  • A holiday marketplace
  • S’mores by a bonfire or wine and mulled cider in the beer garden
  • A trackless train through Smithville
  • Live music, food trucks, cookie decorating and more

Tours of Smithville Mansion and the village will also be available and both the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery and the Workers House Gallery will be open. The gallery is exhibiting the county’s annual juried art show of paintings, photographs, drawings and other works from artists across the county and beyond. It will also feature handmade ceramics, wearable textiles, jewelry, prints and other crafts created by artists from the Peters Valley Gallery and School of Crafts.

In addition to winter fest, both galleries are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
