Millville Woman’s Club had a very full agenda at a recent meeting. Club President Pam McNamee, was unable to attend so Joan Fauver, first vice president, thanked the hostesses, Kathy Bennet and Barbara Westog, and their committee for arranging the international luncheon. The menu was diverse, as members brought dishes reflecting their respective heritages.
Fauver introduced John Feltes, Chief of Millville Fire Emergency Medical Service, and Sara Tesoroni, EMT. They provided information regarding their Emergency Medical Services reviewing how ambulance services work and showing new technologies they utilize to help save lives. Fauver presented Feltes with a check for $100 from MWC. Expressing gratitude, he stated the donation would go to a fund for aspiring new EMTs.
Donna Pio introduced three Millville High School seniors who were invited to the meeting to speak about their high school experiences and plans for the future.
Emily Kukal is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Leaders Club, Horticultural Club, Academic Team, marching band and has received 15 varsity letters—athletic, academic and marching band. Her studies include several AP courses and she completed dual courses at the county college in Advanced Chemistry and Honors World History. Emily has received Bronze, Silver and Gold congressional medals for her community service, personal and physical development. She is active in varsity soccer, swimming and golf. Emily has also been in the Germany Exchange Program, sponsoring a German student and exchanging to Germany. She has been involved with Community Theater, Millville Soccer Association and Girl Scouts. Sponsored by MWC, Emily attended the Girls Career Institute at Douglass Residential College on Rutgers campus in June for a “mini college experience.” She shared some of this positive experience. Emily participated in the U.S. Coast Guard AIM (Academy Introduction Mission) and plans to enlist in the Coast Guard following graduation.
McKensi Chestnut is a member of the National Honor Society. She is a member of the Academic Team, Leaders Club and has been active in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) since 2019. Her studies include AP courses. She has received an Academic varsity letter. She has been a participant in Mock Trial and Model Congress since 2023. McKensi enjoys painting, reading, philosophy, cleaning, poetry and creative writing. McKensi also was sponsored by MWC and attended Girls Career Institute in June. She enjoyed networking with other girls from the state and hearing successful female professionals speak about their respective careers. Following graduation from high school, McKensi plans to attend a four-year college and graduate with a degree in psychology.
Kamiyah Harden is a member of the National Honor Society, the Leaders Club and has been Class President since 2021. She has received Academic Letters in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Her studies include AP and Honors courses. In December 2022, she was Student of the Month. Kamiyah was involved with AVID in grades 6-11. She is a Mock Trial member and participates in winter and spring Varsity Track and Field. Kamiyah has been active in the National African American Recognition Program (2024), Atlantic County’s Thrive Not Survive Teen Summit (2024), Envision’s Intensive Law and Trial Program (2023), Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (2023) and American Legion Auxiliary Jersey Girl (2024). Kamiyah plans to attend a four-year college or university and possibly major in political science.
As always, MWC members were impressed with their accomplishments and wish these young ladies much success as they pursue their careers.
