In the spirit of the season, I’d like to share a cherished tradition within our community: the Explorer Giving Project. For over 20 years, this initiative, led by the Harrison Township School District, has supported local families during the holiday season, while teaching our elementary students the joy of giving.

Through The Explorer Giving Project, students and staff at Harrison Township Elementary School and Pleasant Valley Elementary School collect Walmart and Target gift cards, as well as monetary donations. Their goal is to provide $100 in gift cards to 130 children in our town.

Donations will be accepted at the main office of either school through Thursday, Dec. 13. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference to a local family. I invite you to join me in demonstrating the spirit of Harrison Strong by helping our kids surpass their goal.
