Relief Beerfest 10, Moorestown’s only beer festival, will be held at the Community House on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

The event brings residents of the township together with the volunteers of Relief Engine Company in Moorestown. Proceeds will benefit local activities, including the Christmas parade on Main Street, the Tom Poole Memorial Scholarship and the preservation of the township’s antique fire apparatus.

“The first year we did it, it was a huge success,” said event chairman Kevin Middleton. “The town embraced it, and ever since, with the exception of COVID, we’ve had it every year since then.”

More than 20 local breweries are expected to be in attendance at the brew fest. Tickets include unlimited tastings and there will also be a wine room. The band NEXT will entertain and the event will include appetizers and a fully catered dinner buffet. Tickets can be purchased individually or in packs of two or four.

“People are buying them for a group to get together, enjoy some food, some live music, some great beer, and just use it as a night out,” Middleton explained. “(It’s) the bang for your buck … You’re getting your selection of up to 50 different beers to choose from 20 to 30 different breweries all within the area, and it’s just a great night.”

A number of breweries have been with the event since it first started, including Double Nickel Brewing Co. in Pennsauken. For Beerfest’s 10th anniversary, the engine company volunteers and Double Nickel collaborated to make a celebration brew that will be sampled on Saturday. It should also be available at Ott’s Tavern in Medford and Ott’s Tavern in Delran for a select period of time.

“It’s going to be a very simple pale ale, nothing crazy, but easy drinking, good flavor …” Middleton emphasized. “The brewmaster at Double Nickel was kind enough to work with us and allow us to come in to help brew the beer, so it was a lot of fun.”
